You have just made a terrific stroke on the ball and you want to see where it is going. That can be a problem. By looking up too soon you might actually be causing your stroke to go off-line.

The problem happens when you move your head, the rest of the body thinks it has to move as well. If this happens then even the slightest body movement can take the putter head off its intended target line.

Here is a simple solution to help keep your head still. After you make impact with the ball keep looking at where the ball was when you stroke it. Focus on the spot that is right under the ball. This forces you to keep your head still which in turn will keep your body still and allow the stroke to stay on line.

Depending on the length of the putt, keep looking at the spot until you here the put go in the hole. For a longer putt, hold the spot in you eye for about four seconds. This will keep you from looking up too soon.
