What are the odds?

How often do you really think about the shot you are about to hit?

Is it the best percentage shot for the situation?

Are you forcing your self to hit a miracle shot?

There are truly times when going sideways or maybe even backwards is going to put you in a better position to make your next shot one that you are comfortable making, one that you have made many times before.

How often do you see another golfer, or even attempt yourself a shot that a professional might not try to do? Fear might be the cause for some faulty thinking. By making one poor shot that places your ball in the bunker, woods, or water, doesn't mean you should try to make up that shot by "going for it".

Take your medicine or punishment, accept the bad shot(you don't have to like it). Look at what is ahead of you and "think clearly" how to minimize the the problem and make the fewest shots from there to get the ball in the hole.

Do you know the local rules for your course? Be sure to check the back of the scorecard. Each course has it's own rules about what you can get relief from. One course may allow relief from flower beds while another may not. Check before you begin your round.
