Miura Golf Discover Perfection
You probably haven't heard of the company's founder despite the fact he has been the worldwide golf industry's most respected club craftsman for over 48 years. His company has manufactured high-end golf clubs (their iron sets start at over $1,000) used by many professional stars while under contract with some of the leading American equipment OEMs.
Katsuhiro Miura was 16 when he began his career as a craftsman in Himeji, Japan, a city of more than 470,000 residents that is known as Japan's steel region. It is also the home of the ancient art of samurai sword making. In 1928 master sword craftsman made the countrys first golf irons, and Himeji quickly moved away from sword production and became known for its golf club production.
Mr. Miura has been making forged golf clubs for over 48 years. His Japanese company, Miura Golf Co. Ltd., manufactures its own clubs in Japan, and the clubs are sold in North America under the name Miura Golf. At the age of 23, Mr. Miura founded Miura Mfg. Co. Ltd. His mastery of producing forged irons has earned him worldwide praise. In fact, the Japanese have longed claimed Miura has "God's hands."
Mr. Miura's creations are not only popular with tour professionals and low-handicap players, but also with the average golfer who has lowered their handicap by taking advantage of the craftmanship of the clubs.
In addition, Titleist hired Mr. Miura to make limited-edition irons for Tiger Woods when he was playing Titleist clubs. Mr. Miura used Titleist dies and design, and then manufactured Woods' clubs using his own 14-step process.
Mr. Miura's passion for producing only the most perfect irons requires that he avoid the mass-production process used by most other club companies, and include in his process a significant component of hands-on craftmanship, including hand-weighing and balancing each club before they are shipped. This separates Miura Golf from all other golf-equipment companies.
CB-301 - Forgiveness of a cavity plus the playability of a blade
Miura's latest innovation was inspired by the search for the "best feel." The CB-301's center of gravity moves toward the neck from the center of the scoreline for a more accurate shot. The CB-301 allows golfers to have a strong, stable shot and better control during the swing with its unique weight balance of the toe, sole, and hosel areas.
